Under 10s: 0 – 15 in 9 weeks

We had the kits, we had the training tops, we had the pitch and we had the equipment, what we didn’t have was an Under 10s team.

Just nine weeks ago Tommy Connell & Ken Wroe took on the challenge of rebuilding the under 10s team to compete in the East Manchester League, within two weeks they had enough players to enter the league and now only seven weeks later they can boast a squad of 15 players.
Tommy and Kens reputations has brought players from as far away as Withington to play for them proving that good managers with good coaching methods can always attract players.

The boys worked hard in training and even volunteered for extra training sessions when the their match was cancelled due to bad weather. That hard work paid off this weekend when they played fourth place Mossley and at times played them off the park, it was only a break away goal for Mossley in the first game and a fluke goal in the second game that stopped them recording a pair of wins in Saturdays games, as it was they had to settle for two draws.

Every Committee member, team manager and player at Reddish Villa would like to congratulate the team on this weekend’s performance and look forward to seeing you now start to climb the league table.
Also our thanks to Tommy and Ken for their enthusiasm and dedication in bringing the team together in such a short space of time and proving the doubters who said it couldn’t be done wrong.

The Mercer and Allison of Reddish Villa would like to add another couple of players to the squad so there is still time to join Tommy’s revolution. If you’re interested in playing for the under 10s (school year 5) why not get in touch with Tommy or Ken their contact details can be found on the under 10s teams page.

PS
We have just heard it was Kens 50th Birthday today so happy Birthday Ken from Everyone at Villa.
